Portfolio & QR codes

As I reflect on my second Tech for Educators course I realize how little I know about today's technology. Making the portfolio of google sites wasn't super complicated but it would have been easier if I wasn't on the Ipad. It really interested me how to form my own website. I could use this in my everyday classes & have the students build websites that have to do with the topic we are researching. I found QR codes very interesting as well. The scavenger hunt made learning about QR codes fun. I always pondered what that silly looking bar code like thing is. Now I know that there are many uses for QR codes. I could make a business card for my future career & use a QR code on it. I am excited to make an activity for my students using QR codes.

My first blog

As I reflect on my first instructional technology class , I think that I will enjoy this course. I will be able to learn new ways to teach technology to my future students. I look forward to learning about Prezi. Every new teacher I talk to says that Prezi is so much better than PowerPoint. I am very familiar with PowerPoint so I am curious the big difference between the two. In class we played around with the IPads and each group picked an app to teach the class about. My group picked a Math app that was meant for a third grade class. A lot of the apps were practice and drilling apps that could be used to help the students practice the lessons. Two of the apps allowed the students to create their own projects. This is a great way to enhance the student's creativity. Students can use their imaginations when creating their own play or piece of artwork.
